Information on Coronavirus in Tuscany
Last update – April 10th, 2020
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
It is with a heavy heart but a clear conscience that we inform you of the cancellation of all IRLAB field programs offered for the 2020 season (specifically the Field School Pozzeveri and the Field Experience in Ohio). We have all watched closely as the COVID-19 pandemic has spread across the globe, affecting communities everywhere with little signs of ending in the foreseeable future. The IRLAB Executive Board, like many other governmental entities and institutions of higher learning have aimed to make the most well-informed decisions given current scientific evidence. It has become sufficiently apparent that, regardless of specific local regulations, the best route forward in terms of a global health perspective is to limit non-essential travel and gatherings well into the summer months.
This decision does not come lightly, as we take great pride and joy in conducting our research while creating professional and personal connections with our participants. It is, however, the right decision in the interest of public safety and the wellbeing of everyone involved in our projects.
All payments to IRLAB thus far will be refunded in full either by reversing the original payment or by check in as timely a manner as our current conditions will allow. Checks that have been received but not cashed will be voided. All previously accepted participants for our 2020 programs will be pre-approved for any of our 2021 programs, assuming they will operate as scheduled.
We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate the understanding and kind messages we have received from many of you throughout our correspondence. Should you have any additional questions or concerns, please contact info@irlabnp.org, david.hubin@irlabnp.org or francesco.coschino@irlabnp.org and we will address them accordingly.
Please stay safe and know that the IRLAB team is wishing everyone our best in these difficult times.
